Disclaimer #1: I am NOT a big fan of 8 steps or ways to anything!

I find most of these types of articles boring and not very helpful; however, the steps fit this episode! I do indeed give 8 concrete ways to help your loved one through this time period. They may not seem like rocket science but the part that is so transformative is ACTUALLY INCORPORATING THEM INTO YOUR LIVES!!!!

Disclaimer #2: This episode isn’t just for loved ones of tweens/teens.

Ladies who went through puberty and still have some baggage this will help you too! Ladies who HATE their menstrual cycle…yep you got it, listen in!

One of the things I ask in this episode is that we reframe our thinking around this time period and honor the transition.

What the heck does that even mean? It's not that we make it seem that everything “Instagram perfect”, roses and amazing, because it isn't always in puberty or any stage of life. I use the imagery of the crab when thinking about transition phases of life. Crabs go through periods where they molt; which involves cracking open and losing their shell. They are vulnerable during this time period. Predators can get them easier, they aren't protected AND it is also a time period of GROWTH. Before their shell hardens they grow bigger and stronger and become a new version of themselves. This is what is happening during puberty. Things are both vulnerable, tender and difficult and also growing and expanding. In transitions we become the next version of ourselves! To me the honoring is of ALL OF THAT.

Join me as I speak out loud about the whispers, red faced giggles and all that is puberty!
