Our Story
I am a midwife, a mama of 4, a homeschooler and a teacher. I love to explore “hard” and weird topics in fun and unusual ways. I have a deep reverence for transition periods in life and “midwifing” or teaching and supporting people through all the big P’s: puberty, pregnancy, postpartum and perimenopause! I NEVER would have thought that this would have been my life’s path when I was younger but I wouldn’t want it to be any other way!
I get that most girls don’t want to sit around and talk about puberty and so I designed a courses that talks about puberty in out of the box and fun ways!
Each of us has our own unique story on how we navigate this major life transition known as puberty. What I have learned over the decades of working with women and girls is, that although we are unique there are so many deep themes running through this time period.
This is one of the many reasons that I have put together the Powerful Puberty Course! Over the years I have been a witness to 1000’s of your stories! This has helped me tap into the collective story and start to shift it to one that works better for our health and wellness as girls and women! One that empowers us with the realities of our natural cyclical nature, one that helps us talk about the hard things and brings more knowledge and power to this major transition in our life!
As a health care provider it is clear to me that we weren’t taught much of the information needed about our bodies and menstrual health. It is a BIG part of our lives that most of us ignore or deal with and the reality is that it is SO IMPACTFUL for our overall life long health and wellness in our bodies and also our minds! It’s time for us to change that! One of the biggest things I hear from mom’s who take this class is, “How come I am just now learning this about my own body”.
About Me
When I was a kid my mom gave me the nickname “Julie Pooh”. I have a Winnie the Pooh like personality, finding the simple and slow things in life beautiful and always wanting to explore, play and connect.
I enjoy learning and teaching through play and connection.
When I am not traveling around teaching puberty classes you can find me hiking with my family or on a coffee date with my husband.
